Freedom in Christ

Tonight's devotion was focusing on the joy of following Christ no matter the ups and downs in life.

A passage that I was reading was Galatians 5. There is one section that caught my eyes and I found it relatable (spelling error on my firefox browser. I guess I am making my own words!).

13You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature[a]; rather, serve one another in love. 14The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."[b] 15If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

Free. Christ has set us free. Free from the forever damnation of sin.

Yet, this found freedom, I wonder how often I abuse it and indulge in my sinful nature. Instead of using the freedom to sin, Paul suggested to serve one another in love.

This can be as simply as taking the time away from my own schedule and spending it with another.

The freedom that we received from Christ is not to be misuse or taken for granted.
