Devotion - The Faith to Persevere

Taken from today's My Utmost for His Highest.  A devotion from Oswald Chambers.  Tomorrow, I am doing a liver biopsy  because of the elevated numbers from my blood work.  I am also in the process of applying for OMF (Overseas Missionary Fellowship) and everything right now hangs in the air.  There's no control and nothing I can do.

Faith is not some weak and pitiful emotion, but is strong and vigorous confidence built on the fact that God is holy love. And even though you cannot see Him right now and cannot understand what He is doing, you know Him.  Disaster occurs in your life when you lack the mental composure that comes from establishing yourself on the eternal truth that God is holy love. Faith is the supreme effort of your life— throwing yourself with abandon and total confidence upon God.

keep pressing on, Cliff!

take heart from Psalm 112:

Praise the LORD!
Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments!
His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.
Light dawns in the darkness for the upright;
he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.
It is well with the man who deals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice.
For the righteous will never be moved;
he will be remembered forever.
He is not afraid of bad news;
his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever;
his horn is exalted in honor.
The wicked man sees it and is angry;
he gnashes his teeth and melts away;
the desire of the wicked will perish!

Hang in there my dear brother. Just know that when God prepares someone to do great things. This is when Satan has to stick his ugly face in it and try to stop the Great work before it starts. If he didnt then God just might not be in it. Satan loves appathy, and hates Doers!!!
