Article: Why Men Matter in Church

Picked this up from Boundless line.

"I have read that if a child comes to Christ, 12% of the time the whole family will follow," Sawyers says.

"If the mom comes, there's a 15% chance the family will. But if the man comes to church, 90% of the time the family will come along behind."

I wonder if the man chooses not to go to church, will it have the same impact to his family if he goes to church. (Can this be interpreted that man is the head of the household if it has a huge influence of his family going to church or not?!? Also, can this further deduce the importance of finding a spiritual partner in the looking for a relationship?)

Perhaps it is a sign of maturity, but a while back I was thinking what I can leave behind to my kids (when I have them). What would they remember me by?

I thought about my races, Ironman, triathlon. Thought about my inheritance (haha, there isn't much). Thought about what I will leave behind...

After a while, the only legacy I want to leave behind is that I am a man of God, rely on His strength. Walk in faith and not with my eyes. (Question to self: What habits am I developing that is transforming me to man of God?)

The article reminds me of Joshua when he renew the covenant at Shechem.

14"Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:14-15).

And I will serve the Lord.
