Scrubbing the sins from my life

Last night, I spent two hours cleaning the bathroom. It was at 1 am. My mom had a comment how dirty it was. After some debate, I decided to make a stand, get my hands dirty *literally*.

Seeing how today was Mother's Day, I figured it is the least I can do.

As I was scrubbing and wiping away, I envisioned the mildew, the hair and the dirt is equivalent sins in my life.

I make sure every corner, every crack is wiped clean. I wonder if I have the same attitude when it comes to the sin in my life. Am I as dedicate to irradiate every bit in my soul?

Today at Seeker's class, I was teaching about Salvation. As we talk about faith and salvation, I taught that it is not only enough to know that there is a God and that there is Christ. We have to repent. We have to stop chasing our sinful desires and focus on God. This is a deliberate act and a deliberate will.

And in my mind, it is a waging war. It is messy. Like cleaning the toilet.

In the middle of the night, where my friend describe as an 'odd time' to clean. It is odd. It is also the perfect time. Once I decided to do something, I get it done. The bathroom was cleaned.

There is one quote that keep popping up in my head last night, it is from Joshua:

"15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15)

This is the Joshua renewing the Covenant. You can serve other gods and idols as you please. But I, I will only serve the Lord.

He made a choice. It was deliberate. And he made a stand. Black and white.

As a Christian, who made a choice to follow Christ to the end of days. I have a decision to make as well. I have to get rid of all the filthiness in my life. So that God can use me for His desire and Will. So that I can bear the fruit of the Spirit..

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. (Galatians 5:22-26)
